A great song is like that perfect moment in your life. Where everything fits into place and nothing feels out-of-place. It can be such a subtle feeling that if you’re not careful they’re easily be missed.
Perfect songs, like perfect moments, always leave me wanting more. Yet as I get older those songs/moments seem to become rarer. Maybe aging closes my pathways to the good stuff? Maybe I now blinker myself to the world’s evils better and yet sacrifice the chance of finding a hidden gem?
Hot Snakes release an album for the first time in 14 years, this year. Even if the other tracks don’t live up to Six Wave Hold-Down, I’m happy to have a first ray of perfection for the year.
